The Real Deal: Cowboy Poet Craig Claver
Monday, April 14th, 2025 at 6 PM Red Bluff Round-Up Museum 670 Antelope Blvd Suite 2, Red Bluff, CA
We're honored to feature Craig Claver at this year’s Cowboy Poetry Night! A true cowboy through and through, Craig has spent most of his life in the horse and cattle industry—raising, training, and competing on horses, and raising and showing Brangus cattle. He’s a past member of both the Redding Rodeo Association and the C.M. Russell Stampede Rodeo in Judith Basin, Montana.
Craig’s poetry journey began in 1993, inspired by a borrowed copy of Baxter Black’s “A Rider, A Roper and A Helluva Windmill Man.” Since then, he’s taken his words on the road, performing at cowboy poetry gatherings throughout California, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, and Montana.
With stories drawn from real-life ranch work, rodeo arenas, and long days under wide-open skies, Craig’s poetry delivers authenticity, wit, and heart. His verses aren’t just entertainment—they're a tribute to the cowboy lifestyle and a powerful way to preserve a proud oral tradition.
Come hear Craig Claver and other cowboy poets bring the West to life with rhyme and rhythm.
