Still Makin’ History: Cowboy Poet & Musician Dan Steadman

Monday, April 14th, 2025 at 6 PM Red Bluff Round-Up Museum 670 Antelope Blvd Suite 2, Red Bluff, CA

We’re thrilled to welcome Dan Steadman to this year’s Cowboy Poetry Night!

Born and raised on his family ranch in Willits, California, Dan is a fourth-generation Californian who’s lived and breathed the cowboy way all his life. Under the watchful eye of his grandfather, he became an accomplished horseman at an early age—and he’s carried that tradition forward with his wife Kristi on their Heart S Ranch in Cottonwood.

Dan’s cowboy entertaining began during overnight trail rides as a youngster, and that spark never left him. He went on to study at the Hank Thompson School of Country Music in Oklahoma, and his performances—from the Cowboy Gathering in Loomis to fireside jams with fellow riders—are always full of heart and humor. He also performs with Melissa Southwick as the duo South and Steady, adding a rich musical layer to his storytelling talents.

Though he’s spent over four decades in the banking and investment world, Dan reminds us that the cowboy spirit never retires. When asked for a bio, he simply says: “My history? Hell, I’m still makin’ it!”

Join us for a night of poetry, music, and cowboy tradition—and hear Dan Steadman bring it all to life, one story at a time.

Admission is free | Donations welcome | Family friendly
